Oral corticosteroids (OCS) are often prescribed to help manage asthma attacks. In some patients, however, even occasional use can lead to side effects such as stomach ulcers, changes in mood, and increased blood pressure.
Some people may need daily OCS to control their asthma. If you’re taking OCS, always talk with your doctor about the benefits and risks of this treatment. While these medications can be helpful in reducing swelling and inflammation in the airways, they may be associated with long-term health risks.
